Since I seem to be the only senior blogger with assess to the internet, thought I would update everyone with information sofar as I know:
Dad and Joan were hit pretty hard by Isabel. Trees down, power out, house was not damaged but the yard was a mess. Tree did strike the building in the back yard where lots of stuff is stored, but don't know the extent of damage yet. Thanks to Ricky and Cherry Welding, they do have limited power by way of a welder generator and they also have a propane stove which Joan's daughter brought down. Ed went up on their roof and did not see any apparent damage there. They do have phone service. Joan had a stomach virus but seemed better by Sunday.
Margaret and Gene were without power until Sunday around noon. They had flooding in the basement and debris in the yard but feel very fortunate after surveying the damage in the surrounding neighborhood. Will be checking the roof to see if there was any damage there.
Ricky and Bertha are without power except by generator and also do not have phone service except cell phone. She can receive messages on her regular phone and also her cell. They had prior damage to the roof from the hail storm back in May or June but had more damage to the roof from Isabel and will be getting a new roof ASAP!
Bertha has also had stomach virus and with a limited water supply, it's makes it worse. Hopefully she is better but haven't received a report today. Ricky has been a knight in shining armor coming to the rescue of many.
Jason and Hannah lost some trees and also the chimney collapsed on the roof. Don't know the extent of the damage there. They have no power except a portable generator. Hannah was in Roanoke Rapids Saturday getting gasoline and supplies.
Shawn and Christie have some trees down and a broken storm door. They were with some of Shawn's family during the storm.
Jeremy and Cathy had lots of trees down in their yard, only 1 pine still standing. They have no power but do have Ed's generator. Phone service also out. Sounds like they were very fortunate as a good portion of Colerain was devastated.
We were very blessed at our house, had only some limbs and debris in yard and power was out for only about 12 hours.
Ben had some water damage to his condo but I don't know much else. If he has power, maybe he can update us.
A limb from a tree fell across the fence in Andrea's yard but everyone is safe.
Howie called inquiring about the camping trip but as of now no specific plans have been made. Should we go ahead and plan a trip or forget it for this year?
Thankfully no one from the family was injured in the storm. Haven't heard from everyone though.
