Latest

Well, let's see...it's been awhile since we've posted. Well, let's back track. Tonight we introduced the kids to fondu. We had beef fondu and fondella cheese fondu with apples and bread. Michelle's mom brought back all kinds of cheese from the cheese state (Wisconsin). The kids now want to do it all the time. Unfortunately, due to time constraints (girls have gymnastics on Monday from 4-5, get home around 5:30 and Michelle works til 5:30), there wasn't time for chocolate fondu. Will save that for another night.
This weekend, Michelle's mom and I cleaned up the hill and I got into some poison ivy. I was smart enough to wear gloves and jeans, but not smart enough to wear long sleeves like I had planned. I've been real scatter brained lately- forgot Chris first cub scout pack meeting Thurs and first den meeting yesterday; pretty bad considering I'm the pack training coordinator. And Michelle just made a balloon dog using her new balloons and instructions. We had a church picnic yesterday. That was fun, although Cortlyn found out the hard way about Ga red clay.
Don't know if Mom's told anyone, but I had an interview three weeks ago with a defense contractor down in Albany,GA (about 2 hours from here) for a job doing contract work for the Navy in Norfolk. He told me that, although he still had to interview six more people, I "definitely had his attention" and that I would hear something in 2-3 weeks. E-mailed him last Tuesday (2 wks later) and he replied letting me know he had gotten side-tracked with another proposal but that he had disqual'd a handful of people and that I was still in the running for one of the 2 positions. Tomorrow makes 3 wks, but I'll wait to e-mail him again Wed if I don't hear from him. Keep your fingers crossed. We're all excited about the possibility of moving back to Va and being closer to everyone.

Hurricane Frances left us without power for about a day and a half and blew my neighbor's tree down outside our bedroom window; only damage for us was it split one of our trees (but gave me an excuse to buy a Poulan 16" chainsaw- since the 2 Husqvarna's I got wouldn't start). Ivan was less eventful, leaving us without power for about an hour in the evening and Jean brought wind and rain, but now still just a bunch of rain. I've had to backwash the pool twice today to keep the water level down. Well, that's about it. Catch y'all in a couple weeks. We're bringing our camping stove and gear as well. So, we ought to have enough flame sources (besides the Belvin men's butts) between everyone. Love y'all.
