Babies

The hospital released Cathy and Ridge today but are keeping Savannah for at least another 24 hours because she was jaundiced. They will all be staying at the hospital in Savannah's room until she can be released. Understandably we are all concerned and request your prayers.

Pre-birth picture

Bertha was requesting a picture of Cathy prior to delivery of this precious bundle. Your request is my command. Everyone seems to be progressing nicely and Jeremy is really getting the hang of this "Daddy" thing.

Savannah & Ridge

Dandridge "Ridge" Wood Isom was born this morning at 10:45am and Savannah Rae Isom at 10:46am. Mom and babies are doing very well this evening after a very long day.

Byrum family's latest additions!

The Isom babies are out! He's 7lbs 3oz, she's 6lbs 6oz; he's a screamer, she's peaceful. He's got a big noggin, she's got hair. Everybody's healthy, 20 fingers, 20 toes. Cathy's in recovery. I understand that photos are coming.

As far as I can tell, you've still got time to lobby for names -- they still haven't decided what to call Princess and Junior.

UPDATE: She is "Savannah Raye," (some confusion here -- Dad said it was spelled with an E "like Rachael Ray," who has no E in her last name. I'm thinking it might be spelled without an E, as in "Eddie Ray," or without a Y, as in "Sally Fields stars in 'Norma Rae'"). He is "Dandridge Wood" a.k.a. "Ridge." Dad says both are very cool and quiet.

I talked to Cathy yesterday for almost an hour. I probably have never talked to her that long before and as I told Ed tonight, I even let her do some of the talking. Joyce and Ed went today and took a bookcase for the babies room. Joyce stayed and Ed will go on Tuesday morning. Cathy says that she's really ready for the twins to be out and born but not looking forward to having to go through with it. If I understood Ed correctly Joyce will go back home on Tuesday; that Cathy wants her and Jeremy to have the first night alone with the babies. I could have misunderstood, but I think that's what he said. Cathy says she has definitely gotten bigger since the last picture was posted. She said that last week the doctor estimated the boy to be about 7 lbs and the girl 6 1/2 lbs. Cathy said that she had not asked the doctor how long she would be in the hospital. We will be thinking of you, Cathy and family and look forward to hearing the news and getting to see the twins.
