Just to let everyone know... On Wednesday, Ashley was having pains in her back. She and I went to the doctor where they hooked her up to the monitor. It was registering that she was having mild contractions about 4-5 min. apart. They said it might be b/c she was dehydrated and they sent her to the hospital for an overnight stay with fluids. When the doctor came in (Thursday) he did an ultrasound and said that she had dilated only 1 cm and she was only 50% effaced. He wanted to give her steroid shots to help mature the baby's lungs since she was only 34 weeks pregnant...therefore she had to stay Thursday night as well. She continued to have contractions but never dilated anymore. As of Friday morning she was still having contractions except they seemed to ease off when she ate or was given sleep medicine. They sent her home on Friday afternoon with the orders to rest, rest, rest!! And drink plenty of fluids, mostly water. The doctor suggested she come to my house so there would be someone to monitor her. In case everybody didn't know, she has moved out again to live with the father. Anyway, she seems to be resting and drinking plenty of water. She is to stay here until Monday when she has a doctors appt. If everything is ok.. I guess she'll go back to her house. Against my wishes though.
