Just wanted to catch everyone up on recent events. I didn't get the job in Norfolk. It came down to 3 of us for 2 positions and, like usual, I didn't make the final cut. Oh well, just as well, I suppose. Michelle says God's got a plan. I feel like Dennis Leary on "Rescue Me"- "He's got some splainin' to do". Anyway, I guess this gives me time to work with the docs down here at the Vets' Affairs Clinic. I finally listened to Michelle and went to seek medical assistance after being back for a little over a year. Michelle kept telling me I wasn't the person I was before I went to Iraq. I was reading an article on a military website about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and saw that I have most of the symptoms. It said 1 out of 6 of the guys who have been to Iraq suffer from it. The head shrinker told me that, although I don't have full blown PTSD, I have alot of the symptoms. Ya' think? I already told her that. "Here's your sign". Tell ya what, though, it was a good idea going. They're hooking me up with all the medical benefits I've been too busy to pursue. They've got me set up for a physical on Saturday (hope I don't get the finger) and also are going to set me up with an eye exam to update my prescription and a dental exam, which is cool because they're only supposed to cover dental for 90-120 days from the time you get out of the service. Any way, that's it for now. Can't wait to go camping and see everyone. We'll be bringing my truck this time. Got me a '04 Slate Grey Dodge Ram 1500. Woohoo! Anyway, see y'all later.

Cathy, I figured we'd have about 28-29 people camping. I'll bring about 10 pounds of hotdogs. I think that should be enough.

I leave for Salt Lake City on Wednesday morning. Will be back on Saturday-more training. Looking forward to seeing everyone when we camp.
