prayer request

If you've got space on your prayer lists, please make room for my much-loved friend Cy, who's going through hell right now in the Duke ICU. http://blogs.newsobserver.com/category/tags/Cy-Rawls. Thanks -- love to you all.

Ed and Babies

Ed had his first radiation treatment today and seemed to handle it fine. He was a little more tired than usual when he got home this afternoon. His plan is to have his treatment at 11:15 which lasts about 15min., go home for lunch, rest and return to work at 1:00PM. Only 24 more treatments to go, 5 per week for 5 weeks. Prayers are requested and appreciated.

Game Highlights, by Granny

Each year, as I remember, Edenton and Hertford teams always seem to play the final game. After close games, Edenton was victorious in the 8 year and under team, 10 year and under team and the 16 year and under team. Jason is one of the coaches and Amber plays third base. She is one who has the arm to get the ball to first base, sometimes on target, sometimes not. During the first game on Sunday with Hertford, one throw was right on target getting the runner OUT! During the second game, one of Hertford's strongest hitters hit a line drive straight to Amber's left shoulder. She had no time to react. POW! there it was. You would have been proud, she picked up the ball and still threw it, right before she began to cry. After ice was applied, she came right back in and played the rest of the game. It was a great game that lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes (8pm-10:45). She was suppose to be at Cale Retreat (Camp Cale) @ 4pm. She arrived close to 12:00. Say a little prayer for her today as I'm sure she is tired, nervous about her first day @ camp and probably a little sore.
You would have also been proud of the good sportsmanship that Jason and the other coach have. They have also instilled this in their players!
This report comes from one vocal fan, Granny and one quiet supporter, Poppy! Off to Kinston next weekend! I hope the next report is as exciting!
