Slide Show

Enjoyed the slide show of some of Chris' unit's training. Of course it and the accompanying music brought tears to the eyes. You shouldn't have told us that you were not in it, Chris. I'm sure we could have picked you out otherwise. Stay safe. We're proud of you.
Rick has used no pain meds since last Saturday (the 7th) and has no pain since. Yesterday in the morning, he did feel a twinge when he used the bathroom. All is well here, as I rejoin the Cherry Welding team. Hannah will still be doing some of the bookkeeping work, but is now full time with the North Eastern Partnership, I believe a private company that is funded by the state to bring industry to NE NC. I understand they played a part in bringing Dolly to Roanoke Rapids. Good luck Cathy and Jeremy in your new jobs and new location. Aunt B.

Now that we've figured out where and when, everyone wants to know what the offhand comment was that Chris made (if it's publishable).
Hope that everyone's new year is progressing nicely. If we could just get everyone well I think that things would be better. Ed now has a hernia which he will probably have to have taken care of soon becuause it is bothering him. This means that it has been bothering him for quite a while but has finally gotten to the point that he can't ignore it and has agreed to see a doctor. I'll never understand menfolk. Hopefully it won't be a major problem. We now need to decide where. He says he definitely does not want to go back to Chapel Hill so we'll see.
Jeremy is making plans to change jobs and they will be moving soon to somewhere near Carthage so that he can be closer to his Dad and help when needed.
Christie sent me an article she pulled from a magazine about keeping a family close, I think. I haven't had time to read it yet but I should be posting some suggestions on the blog soon.
Take care of yourselves.
Hey guys, I do know how to spell nephew. I do not proof before publishing.
Yes Barry, I do remember going to a play that Ben was in in Edenton. I guess both families were there.

Barry, You stayed with us when you attended soccer camp at Norfolk Academy. I don't remember going to a movie, but it's very likely that we did. When nieces or newphews came for a visit, I tried to take them to as many places as time allowed. I think Christie came more often than most, but I know that Hannah and Cathy came up for a visit and I remember us going to Doumar's for ice cream. Doumar made their own cones with a old timie machine. Their ice cream cones were small and for some reason I remember that when I finished mine I said that it tasted like more and ordered another one. Hannah liked the idea and I know that she had a second one too, but can't remember if Cathy did or not. Chris, if you're still checking the blog, do you have any memory of us taking Barry to the movies? You haven't responded recently, so don't know if you have as much time at computer as you did at one time. Miss you, Mom

Christie's talk about the Lion King brought back a weird memory I can't place -- why would Chris and I be together at a theater watching "The Pajama Game" (I think -- might have been "Bye Bye Birdie")? I'm positive about the memory (I would have been 12 or so) -- I remember only because of an offhand comment Chris made that stuck with me for reasons unknown.

You are soooo right!

Yes, Aunt Margaret, Emma did enjoy her vist as well. She enjoyed it so much that she asks me every day to take her back for another visit. I told her we would come up one weekend when we would have more time.

Michelle & Chris: Ashley, Corey and Emma thank you for their gifts. Emma opened hers the night she stayed with Margaret and I think they both played with it. Corey has used all but one of the cd's you gave him and Ashley, well I haven't talked to her since she opened hers. She was at work, so I just left it with her. I'm sure she enjoyed it though. Hope everyone is doing well.

I recommend the Lion King to everyone. I've never been to a Broadway show before and this one was a great first-timer.

Talk at you later!

Glad to hear that Ricky is not in pain, due to pain medicine. Hope you pass the stone soon and be finished with it.
I had a good time keeping Emma on Wednesday night. Shawn and Christie went to see Lion King. We baked cookies, I read to her and she read to me. We played with all of the toys in the toy box. We built houses with the logs from the log truck and from legos. I enjoyed being with her and I think she had a good time. She didn't get sleepy until her mom got here.
I assume that some of the Summerlin family enjoyed the game between NC State and Chapel Hill.
Talk to all soon.
