It's nice seeing that someone is blogging. I check it often, just don't take the time to leave a message. Last week was my week to see doctors. On Tuesday, Gene and I and another couple went to the movies and sat in a draft. After the movie, we went to get something to eat and before we could finish, I was miserable with an ear ache. Went home and laid on the heating pad and about an hour or so later my eardrum ruptured. I had to go see my GP on Wednesday. He put me on antibiotics (sp) and an antihistamine. Thursday was my day to go see my orthopedic surgeon and was released unless I need him and later went to my vascular surgeon and was also released by him. On Friday, I went to my eye doctor to get my annual check up. We're trying new lenses, but I don't like them as well even though he says for distance I can see better, but it doesn't seem that way to me.
Next Thursday, Gene and I fly to Macon for Cortlyn's birthday. She's having a pool party.
Howie and his family are also going, well we're not sure about Howie, depends on his school work schedule. The rest of the family are planning to go.
Bertha, glad your family had a good time even if you didn't get much rest and glad you got back home safe.
Since I can't get into any of my clothes, I have Joan's exercise bike and am using it and have already lost a few pounds. I don't want to weigh for a few days. Tonight Gene and I went out for dinner and then he went to 2 Lowes, Home Depot and we went to Target to shop for Cortlyn. On the way home, he asked if I wanted to go to Baker's Crust for a crepe, which we love and of course I couldn't say no. With the whipped cream, ice cream and chocolate sauce, who knows how many caleries there were. I either have to lose weight or buy larger clothes.

Summer
It appears that I'm not the only one busy and not blogging too much lately. Having a busy but good summer. I am babysitting for Amber and Clay two days a week at their home. I wanted to give them more time at home, plus my house stays a little cleaner. Rick, Amber and I went camping at the Old timers Thresher's Reunion at Denton, NC last week from Wednesday through Saturday. It rained a little every day, sometimes just during the night. Even with the rain, the weather was much better that usual. Temps were much nicer when it was overcast or cloudy. Hannah and Clay joined us on Friday morning. Amber and Clay enjoyed seeing and riding the steam engine whose track was just about 100 feet from our camp site. The train passed by about every 45 minutes. The engine only pulled 3 cars and 1 caboose, but was usually filled with riders who were waving out the windows at us every time. I had a good time, but got very little rest. I heard "Come on, Granny" several hundred times. But I knew that was the way it was going to be. Rick attached a tractor seat to the rear of the golf cart for Amber to ride on. It was mounted on a bar, hooked to the trailer hitch. When we rode, the seat bounced slightly, which was usually enjoyed by Amber. Was enjoyed by Hannah also, except when we got caught out during one of the rain showers which soaked Hannah.
If I am not mistaken, Dad is to have the knot removed from his neck this Friday. Doesn't seem to be much, since it will be in the doctor's office. Hope that you all had a nice 4th. Me? - well I was just recouping from the camping trip. Didn't even bother riding out to see the fireworks. Rick and I did go biking for a while that afternoon. Hope to see you all soon, Bertha
