I've tried numerous times today to get on the blog to report on Gene. We were really happy that they got it all with just one cutting. There were a couple of guys in the waiting room who had been in twice for more to be cut out and were waiting for the results when we left. When Gene said that they had gotten it all the first time, they told him how lucky he was. I told them yes that he was lucky that he had a wife who bugged him to go to the doctor. As Gene says the doctors said that his roots from the cancer were short. Since they used a local, he insisted on driving home. His Kiwanis had a picnic today for children who are metally challenged and he insisted that he felt like going. He is planning to go to work tomorrow. I went to work today. I could not use the excuse to stay home with my husband since he was not home. Thanks for the prayers.

Jeremy and Cathy, we are thinking of you.

Gene

Talked to Gene tonight and he said that they got everything on the first slice and that he was feeling fine.

Danny's Obit

Danny's obituary is posted at FryandPrickett.com, the funeral home handling the arrangements. Very sweet picture.

We'll be praying for you tomorrow, Gene. You too, Margaret.

Good night to all.
As I was telling someone about Gene's procedure, I realized, and have confirmed this by reading more material. They will take about 1 m around and down from the cancer in the morning and then they'll simply cover the incision and we'll wait while they check what they have taken. (about an hour). If it is determined that they did not get it all, they will take more tomorrow and will continue this procedure until they are sure that they have it all. They told him to plan for at least a half day and he might be there all day. I'll let you know something when we're finished.
Jeremy & Cathy, I'm so sorry about Danny. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

We have just come back from the Doctor's office. Gene has surgery scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:30. I forget what it's called (of course, I went with him so I could remember these things), but it's the type that spreads fast and can go to organs. They will take a certain amount tomorrow and then check to see if they got it all; if not they'll do another surgery. He is not put to sleep, they will use a local anesthetic (sp). The good thing is that it has not been there too long, maybe a couple of months or maybe a little longer. I know I don't have to ask for prayers.
Thanks.

Jeremy's Dad

Just wanted to let everyone know that Jeremy's Dad, Danny, passed away during the night. Everyone is coping as well as can be expected. Cathy and Jeremy's address: 173 Doe Run Dr, Sanford, NC 27330
Diane and Zach's: PO Box 1504, Carthage, NC 28327

Gene has his appointment this morning but Margaret didn't know exactly what they would be doing other than evaluating and consulting. She said she would keep us advised.
