Our appointments yesterday went well. Dr Karuda (surgeon) said Ed was doing fine and released him to the chemo/rad folks until probably late February when hopefully the tumor will have shrunk and he can remove it. Ed sees a radiology oncologist here on Tuesday, 21st who will be in charge of his treatments for apprx 5-6 weeks. The chemo doctor in Chapel Hill said that it will be a low dose chemo treatment to help the radiology be more effective so hopefully side effects will be minimal. It will be administered by a continuous IV pump so that he will not have to be hospitalized. Ed is worrying more about his boney bald head that anything else, it seems. He seems to be doing well and plans to go back to work on Monday.
Our prayer request now is that the tumor will shrink and that the side effects will be minimal. Thanks for your prayers.

Ed
We received a call today and have an appointment on Friday, 17th with the radiology and chemo doctors. We will also see Karuda (the surgeon) on Friday so that we won't have to make another trip up there on the 21st. Ed has been doing well this week even though he hasn't slept so well a couple of nights. He is eating more than ever but I still have to prod him to drink more water. He is enjoying using the computer more and hasn't locked it up too many times.
We were very glad to be able to go to Bertha and Rick's on Saturday (still seems like it was Sunday) and enjoyed being with everyone.
