Ed has his med-port put in today. This is like a built-in IV and will be used to administer the chemo and for anything else that he might need it for. They said that he could leave it in until he actually has the surgery. I guess UNC would go for that but they might have rules against using a port put in at another hospital, who knows. He seems to be doing fine and will take the bandage off tomorrow and take a shower. We will see the chemo doctor here for the first time tomorrow but I'm sure it will just be the get-acquainted visit. Don't know if I've mentioned it before but Ed has decided to have his radiation and chemo done here in RR instead of traveling to Chapel Hill.
We only had about an inch of snow. The streets are pretty clear now and should be completely clear after it warms up tomorrow.
We had a very nice Christmas. Ed bought a little gas heater for the sunroom and now it is toasty warm in there.
Love to all.

"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" Oh! I'm not dreaming - it did snow! And snow it did! We awoke Sunday morning to about 2 inches, then it preceded to snow about another 4 or so. I'm so glad that it was Sunday instead of Saturday. We had a nice day on Christmas, visited Amber and Clay, and then Dad for a short while, then returned home to finish Christmas dinner for all the Blanchard family. Amber spent Saturday and Sunday night with Ben in Norfolk. Hannah was suppose to go get her on Sunday, but the big snow made it unsafe to travel. When I talked to Ben on Sunday morning, they were on their way - in the snow- to IHOP for breakfast. Happy New Year to all!
