Sorry that I missed Emma's party and didn't get to see the family on Saturday. I did enjoy meeting more of Joan's family. Her only sibling, Jim, invited her to his daughter's graduation in Newport News. We didn't go to the graduation because of her inability to walk long distances, but we did go to the cook out afterwards. We also visited her only living aunt nearby. Dad and her have some things in common. She's independent and can't see very well, much worse than Dad's sight. She was a treat to talk to. Joan's brother has four beautiful daughters and very nice as well. We had a good day.

everything's going pretty well. Only two more weeks of school. Having a little difficulty at the present with laryngitis. Hard to teach when you have just a scruffy whisper.

Having a busy weekend with a friend's daughter's wedding. I'll be at the rehearsal & dinner on Friday, Christian wedding & reception at 1:00 on Saturday, and a Hindu wedding ceremony and dinner in Raleigh at 3:30 on Sunday.

Hope that everyone had a Happy Mother's Day last Sunday! Love, Bert
