Bertha, I was not where I could talk to you either time that you called. The doctor's office does have the results of my PET scan, but was not in the office today. He'll be in tomorrow. His nurse says that sometimes, he returns calls between patients, but other times, he waits until he's finished with patients, late in the afternoon. So I know nothing at this time. I asked the nurse today, about if this test is negative, why we would schedule the scan. Her answer was that I'd have to ask the doctor tomorrow. Tonight, I received a call from the hospital telling me that they did schedule the scope to look into my lungs next Wednesday at 9 AM. I guess I'll address this with the doctor tomorrow. If the PET scan comes back negative, I guestion the need for the scan. I received my bill from my emergency room visit today, right at $4,000, $1,500 of which was for the emergency room, not labs or test. I guess my waiting for the test, was very expensive. One part of the bill was pharmacy for $120.19 and I only was given one Motrin. I know I won't have to pay any more if they charge more, because I have definitely met my deductable of $3,000, but I don't think it's fair for my insurance company to have to pay for all of that time, while I waited 4 1/2 for the scan to be done and another 1 1/2 for the scan to be read. I jokingly said to one of the nurses that I hope I was not paying for the room by the hour, and he jokingly said, "No they charge by the minute" and I really think that is correct.
Oh well, what can I do at this time. Not pay anything, just wait. I'll let you know something when I know. I'm really not worried, because I don't believe it's anything, but if it is, I'll deal with it one day at a time.
