DAD

Dad went to the cardiologist, Dr. Smith from Greenville, yesterday. This is what I believed that he said:
"The blood work that was done while Dad was in the hospital indicated that he had a heart attack on Monday, 5/4/09. The enzymes in the blood is how they determine a heart attack. BUT when a patient is sick like Dad was, with his pulse (heartbeat) racing like his was, the heart can seep these enzymes without really having a heart attack. IF it was a heart attack, it was small. But before he can determine if Dad's heart is strong enough for his gall bladder to be removed, he suggested a stress test. This is a sitting down test, not the normal walking on an incline test. Dad opted to have it in Edenton the next date Dr. Smith is in town which is July 28 @ 8am even though he could have had it in Greenville next week. If this test goes well, he will give Dad the "go ahead" to have the gall bladder removed. His EKG looked fine yesterday as it did two weeks ago with Dr. Hasket. His heartbeat is still a little slow, but Dr. Smith said that going into surgery with a slow heart beat is better so he didn't change any of his medicines."

When Dad came out of his door to get in the car with Amber, Clay, Emma and I, Emma said, "Woo Hoo, Granddaddy looks nice". I guess our closet cleanout day was a success! Hannah kept the kids while we went to the doctor.

See you all Sunday.
