SCHOOL LESSON

I don't know if cotton is in season, but if it is, can somebody bring me a couple of plants from a field next weekend? We talk about cotton and slavery and the effect it had on shaping our country. I need seed-filled cotton to show the kids how hard it was for the slaves to get the seeds out of the cotton.

Howie, don't forget to tell them about us non-slave chilluns' who had to go out in the fields of our plantation with our burlap sacks after school to pick cotton also.
