What kind of prayer did you say before you went to sleep? Who taught you how to pray it?

My first prayer learned was:

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray thee Lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake
I pray thee Lord my soul to take.

I don't remember who taught me this prayer but I feel sure it was Mama but it might have been my sister, Margaret who was 4 years older than me. I do notice today that they have changed the last 2 lines of the prayer to something like:

May angels watch me through the night
And wake me to the morning light

because I guess they think the thought of dying would traumatize children today but I don't remember worrying about that as a child but I do remember worrying about my parents dying and wondering who would take care of us.
