Free for a minute
Well, things have taken an interesting turn in the whole future military career thing. Talked to an Air Force, yes- AirForce, recruiter today. It appears that they are doing this experimental thing where they are taking prior service Army folks with less than 12 years service. However, I have to get out of the Army first and show him my discharge papers to verify I got out on a Honorable discharge and my re-entry code. Yeah, it'll be tough changing to Air Force cause they are definitely not as "Hooah!" as the Army, but standard of living is better than the Army and I wouldn't be deployed nearly as often as I have been in the Army. And, we've decided that if the Air Force thing doesn't work out, I can always go next door to the Army recruiting office (the one I worked at while I was home from Korea) and come back in, even if I need a waiver (although I shouldn't). That place was waiver central when I worked there and they have the same Station commander who I was on good terms with. So, as of December 20th, I'll be a free man, well for a couple of weeks or so. Well, that's it for now, other than Cortlyn is still on the A-B honor roll and Mandi got all smiley faces on her progress report. We're very proud of both of them. Waiting to see someone else post on blogger or is everybody really busy?
