It's been a busy week or so: last Friday, Michelle went to help her mom in Macon and the kids and I stayed home, had pizza, and played games. Saturday we played at the playground. Chris and I threw the ball while his sisters played on the play equipment. He's getting really good. We took a break and played tag, all 3 of us. 30-45 min. later, I was soaked with sweat. Well, got my PT in for the weekend. On Monday, I went and switched my VFW membership from the one I joined in Korea to the one here in Hinesville and Michelle's joining the VFW's Ladies' Auxilary. We went to a ceremony at the VFW on Tuesday. Our commanding general, Major Gen. Webster, was the guest speaker and we had a visit by Jesse Jackson to Ft Stewart on Monday to look into the plight of all the "med hold" Nasty Guard folk that are still here. It seems FOR ONCE Jesse's actually doing something useful and helping someone else besides his public ego. Tomorrow, I'm supposed to teach some NBC classes out at the range. Talked to Dad tonight; sounded like usual chipper dad. "Minor surgery? No big deal."
We won't have any problems finding parking while driving the van. Michelle just got a handicap tag for her mirror and will be getting a handicap license plate. Her knee and hip have gotten really bad. They're gonna' try and give her a knee brace that will pull the knee back into place and want to do hip and knee surgery and have told us eventually (hopefully not for years) that she will end up in a wheelchair. Not something we're hoping for, but a reality we're preparing ourselves for. Well, gotta' run.
