Sorry I haven't blogged lately. I'll try to get all up to speed. Last week, Ashley had an accident while going to school. An older gentleman (76) was stopped at a stop sign and Ashley was traveling on the intersecting street. She did not have a stop sign. The gentleman did not look her way b-4 pulling out and she had no other choice but to hit him. A friend was also riding with her. Luckily, no one got hurt. Although, I did get a call shortly after I got to work from the school nurse that her from her left knee down, was numb and tingly and her foot was cold and turning blue! Let me back track for a minute... When I got to her after the wreck, she was sitting on her trunk with her pants leg pulled up above her knee. I noticed it was a little swollen and looked bruised. I asked her what was going with that and she said it felt a little tingly and a tad bit sore. I asked her did she feel like she should go somewhere. She said no she thought she had just hit it on the lower part of her dash or steering wheel. Anyone close to Ashley (Bertha, Hannah) knows that Ashley is a bit of a drama queen, so when she said she didn't want to go anywhere, I was quite surprised but relieved. Anyway, getting back to the phone call. I left work and went to pick up Ash from school and take to the emergency room (didn't know where else to go). After arriving at 12:30 and sitting for 3 1/2 hours we were finally taken back for assessment. Then we sat for another hour before seeing doctor and he recommended xrays of knee, ankle and foot. Everything came up negative, thank goodness! However, that night her foot was still ice cold but not blue. The attending physician said she might have stretched some nerves. If it continued to stay cold, the only other thing he could recommend was an angiogram to check for artery damage behind knee. Luckily, the next morning her foot had a normal temperature, however, she was very sore and stiff ALL OVER! A week later, she is still a little stiff in her knee/leg. Had to get a rental car and she was all hyped about that until I told her she couldn't drive it b/c she is under 18. So everybody pray really hard b/c she is driving MY CAR!!!!!!! Insurance company is supposed to be contacting us this week about her car. The main damage to the car is a bent chassis, which makes it very hard to drive. Also some cosmetic damages. The medical insurance agent is coming today.

On a lighter note, we had a cheerleading competition this weekend at ODU. We placed second with Manteo placing first. The cheerleaders did really well and only missed one stunt. Sorry, Aunt M. for not stopping by, but we were exhausted. (Starting at 8:00 a.m and ending at 6:30p.m.) On the weekend of the 19, 20, 21 we have another comp. in Williamsburg. Wish us luck!!!!

Corey made the school baseball team and had his first game yesterday. The team did really well as a whole, holding a firm score of 0 to 0 until the 6th inning. This is when everybody decided to actually make runs; meaning both teams. The final score was 8 (us) to 3 (them). I think. I know we won!! Recreation ball sign ups are also this week, which he also plays. And so starts the end of my life for the next 5-6 months, depending on how well we do. Oh well, Corey really enjoys baseball so that makes it all worthwhile.

Proud of you Chris and good luck other Chris with jobs.

Emma's growing leaps and bounds. I still take her to work with me and she seems to enjoy it. I'm hoping it's not detrimental to her, not being around other children, but I'm planning on putting her a nice pre-school I've heard about in the area. It's called the Little Goose Nest and I hear the teachers are superb. I think it will be good for her and myself. Have to wait until she's three though, which I don't mind at all!!!

I think that's all for now. Hope you're doing well Aunt M. See you soon!

By the way, I haven't talked to Grandaddy in a while so I haven't had a chance to tell him about the wreck. Everybody please keep it on the q.t. until I tell him. Don't want to hurt his feelings! Thanks!!!

Love you all!

Christie
